Hello! I’m the owner of this website, as well as the writer of everything here. I am a U.S. citizen, born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I have also spent my entire life. My parents are both Chinese immigrants, one from Nanjing and the other from Henan.

I became interested in law and politics at the beginning of my high school career. However, as I asked around in my Chinese community, not many seemed to know much about what was going on in today’s political landscape. And honestly, I didn’t realize that until then. But when you actually look at it, politics shows up in everyday life all the time. It affects things like education, taxes, immigration, healthcare, safety, and even what happens in our local communities.

To you, Chinese residents may not seem like they exist everywhere in Michigan. And they don’t fill up the entire state as a major ethnicity. But for elections, especially local elections, Chinese residents could still tip the scales from one candidate to another. Each vote counts. Don't just look at a ballot and choose the name that sounds familiar or gives you the best impression. Research the candidates, understand their positions, and make an informed decision about who you support. Politics is everywhere, so please, treat it as something important.

You don’t have to read the news everyday (although that is a good way to stay informed). You don’t have to become a politician. Just inform yourself on each candidate during an election and support the people you want to see leading our community, state, and/or country. Your voice matters.
